The DFI Advantage – Our Helical Piling Capabilities
A helical pile consists of a tubular steel shaft with one or more helical plates (flights) welded to it. These piles are installed by rotating them into the ground, allowing the helical plates to cut into the soil with minimal disturbance. Load is transferred through the shaft to the helical plates, which bear against load-bearing strata. The pile’s load-carrying capacity is directly related to the torque required to advance it into the soil, with greater resistance indicating higher capacity.
