Expertly designed, reliably driven, we are DFI, your one-stop steel piling source. In addition to steel driven piling (pipe) and helical piling, we specialize in steel sheet piling for deep excavations where soil retention is required.

Steel is the most common type of sheet piling used for retaining wall systems, and at DFI, we are experts when it comes to steel (Did you know that we have our own steel piling mill?). The advantages of steel sheet piling include: increased strength and durability, ample availability, and it can be reused.

We also offer other types of shoring solutions like soldier piles and lagging.
Resources
Steel sheet piles are interlocking, thin steel sections designed to create continuous barriers in soil or water. Installed through vibratory hammers, impact hammers, or hydraulic presses. Sheet piles primarily provide lateral earth retention and water seepage control, making them ideal for applications such as retaining walls, seawalls, and cofferdams.

Advantages
- Superior strength compared to vinyl, plastic, or timber alternatives, making them suitable for deep excavations and high-load applications
- Can be extracted and reused or recycled reducing overall material costs and environmental impact
- Performs well in varying climates, including freeze-thaw cycles, and can be coated for additional corrosion resistance
- When properly maintained or coated, steel sheet piles can last decades, outlasting timber or vinyl alternatives
